About John Armand Berry
John is somewhat of a mystery. He is known to have gone to Cuba at some point and the story is that his children were left in Kingston, Jamaica, being looked after by his sister Odeline.
It is mentioned in Samuel West's journal that Odeline Berry had visited Cuba.
He arranged for a memorial tribute by means of an insertion in the Gleaner newspaper in 1916, a year after the death of Henrietta Levy (his grandmother) and it was signed at the bottom 'John Armand Berry, Cuba.'
