About John C Bowlby
In war of 1812.
John C. Bowlby was born in New Jersey on June 29, 1799 and married Miss Ann Young in 1820. In 1851 John C Bowlby and family moved to Tazewell County from Ohio where he was engaged in farming and continued to farm in Dillion township on rented land until 1866. He then bought a valuable tract of land in Section 30, in Dillon, and continued to raise stock and farm. They raised a family here and were identified with the Methodist Church. The children were each given an 80 acre farm when they were married, and it was on of these farms that Charles Bowlby, a son of John and Ann, got his start farming.
