About John Wesley "Wes" Browning
GEDCOM Note
Burial @ Shelt-Noel Cem.
Was named after his father, "Washington" and his grandfather, "John", Jr.
1870 - Shoal Creek, Barry Co., MO - Census & McDonald Co. Census
1893 - 21 day of January 1893, acquired homestead land of 26.27 acres in McDonald County on the right bank of Elk River. Not 100% sure this is MY John W Browning, but the likelyhood is great.
1910 lived in McDonald Co., MO @ the time of his mother's death (Sarah Jane Starnes or Starns Browning)
Said to have been "not well balanced". The story is told that he was walking a long RR bridge when a train came along. He kept walking and waving a red handkerchief behind him with the train whistle blowing all the way. He was full of oddities. He and Bent lived with their mother and depended upon Tom Walker for all advice and care in their later years.
1870 McDonald Co., Missouri Census says he was born in Missouri - originally I had received information that he was born in Washington Co., Arkansas - right now, until proven otherwise, I'm going with Missouri. (2006)
