John is related to an Abraham Campbell who was a Campbellite minister and was married to a woman named Winne or Winifred Sevier who family tradition says was dropped off at the Campbell home when a child by Indians who had perhaps captured her at some earlier time. So she grew up with Abraham and they married when they came of age. Some claim she was related to Governor Sevier but no link has been found, so I wonder if instead she was connected to a Rev. Sevier who served among the Cherokees or if the name was given to her arbitrarily .
