John Catron was born in Virginia in 1802. He married Margaret Hildebrand, a Cherokee, about 1828. [1] The family appears on the 1835 Cherokee Census living on Okoa Creek (now Tennessee), near Margaret's parents. [2]
They were the parents of three children, Carolina, Lafayette, and Levannah Elizabeth. [3]
The family was Removed to Indian Territory and settled in the Tahlequah District, Cherokee Nation. [4] John died in 1865. [5]
