Came to Kansas with parents in a covered wagon in December of 1878. Settled on a Farm three and one-half miles North of Crestline on Military Road

J.L. Church, son of Andrew Church, lives just South of Rawling's Chapel, (Built on the farm of Reverend James Rawlings) where he owns 100 acres of land, and farms it well; has out 25 acres of Flax and says he will get $18 an acre out of it; has been experimenting with rape. The ground is broken loosely, not necessarily deep, and gotten in finest shape; broadcast 3 pounds of rape seed to 6 acres, and harrow lightly. In six weeks it will be three inches high and ready for pasture. It will stand unusually heavy pasturing and fatten fast, being especially good for hogs.

Operated a Restaurant and a Grocery Store in Lawton for 20 years before selling out and coming to Columbus to become under sheriff under sheriff Dick Helman serving during the mid 1930's

John Lee was an Under Sheriff (Constable) in Cherokee County, Kansas from 1923-1927.... In the 1920's John and Adelia "Dea" served as Probate Juvenile Officers for two terms. Serving as an Officer for 16 years and a Constable for 10 years. Part of their job was to transport abandoned and orphan children to the shelter (near Columbus) Willard "Howard" was their only child that lived to adulthood.

Lived in Carl Junction, Missouri in 1910. Lived in Columbus in 1939

Severely ill for several months with a heart ailment. Life Member of the ATA and IOOF Lodges. IOOF Lodge no. 476 (Crestline, Cherokee Co.)
