John Cooper was born in England around 1568. He married Agnes Lucas who was born in Olney Parish, Buckinghamshire, England abt 1572. They had one known child, John Cooper I, also known as John Cooper Cowper. It can be assumed that both John and Agnes died in England.
Olney is a very small town between Buckingham and London, to the northwest of London. It is near to Oxford and Cambridge, which are home to some of the world’s greatest universities. It is also near Stratford-on-Avon, where Shakespeare wrote. John Cooper lived during the reign of Elizabeth I and was just 8 years younger than Shakespeare, so perhaps it is possible he saw one of Shakespeare’s plays during one of their original performances.
1. John Cooper I, (aka John Cooper Cowper) was born in England in 1594 in Olney, Buckinghamshire, England and passed away 23 Nov, 1689 in Southampton, Long Island, Suffolk, New York. Sometime before 1618 he married Wilbroe Griggs. Wilbroe was born in 1593 in Olney, and died sometime before 1662 in Southampton.
