John William 'Bill Currey was born March 13, 1928, in Morgantown, WV, son of the late William John and Cocoa Mae Vannoy Currey. He married Dorothy Lee Zirkle.

Surviving are children, Marcia (Wayne) Jones; Linda (Rodney) Osbourn; John (Cindy) Currey II and Melissa Rice; grandchildren, Steven (Kristi) Jones, Christopher Jones (fiance, Chrissy Zeltner), Lisa (Michael) Rawlings, Wesle Osbourne (fiance, Kaitlin Nuzum), Casey Currey, Nicholas Currey, Alex Rice and Paige Rice and great-grandchildren, Brianna Rawlings and Kyle Jones.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Dorothy on April 30, 2011; sisters, Mary Rita Vincent, Alice Ruth Sweet and Marsha Robustelli and brothers, George and Robert L. Currey.
