From Jim Veregge:
John Davis, son of Nathan Davis and Ellen Hubbard of Rutland, Massachusetts is NOT the John Davis that died 1798 in Jefferson County, Tennessee. The John Davis in Rutland, Massachusetts married a woman named Margaret [maiden name unknown but may be Forbes], and their children were all born in Gilsum, Cheshire, New Hampshire between 1781-1796, and none of them are named Rebecca or Nancy. Their birth records are all documented in "Gilsum (New Hampshire). Town Clerk. "Records of births, marriages and deaths, 1754-1915", pg. 296, and "History of the Town of Gilsum, New Hampshire, from 1752 to 1879", pg. 298.
