Tallahassee - Dr. John Dwelle Davis (Jack) born April 7, 1928 in Poughkeepsie, New York passed away peacefully at his home on February 26, 2018 surrounded by family and friends. Jack was the son of Philip and Helen Davis and brother of the late Helen Norman. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 27 years, Ann Davis, and his sister Joanne Bentley, his sons Philip (Cecile), John Jr. (Maureen), Ward, and Andrew (Leah), and his stepchildren Alexandra Murphy (Mike), Craig Sieben, Bruce (Kathleen) and Douglas Rylance, and by grandchildren Devon, Andrew, Kristopher, Helen, and Dianna, and by his step grandchildren Taylor and Carter Murphy, Ethan and Krya Sieben, and William and Mary Rylance.

Jack graduated from Brown University and University of Illinois with a PhD. in Biopsychology. His full academic career included research and/or teaching positions at University of Illinois, American University of Beirut in Beirut Lebanon, Yale University, Cornell Medical Center, and Florida State University. He also served in the U.S. Air Force as and was an active volunteer with Big Bend Hospice and Westminster Oaks. He will be greatly missed by his many friends, colleagues and family.

A celebration of his life and birth will be held 1:30 PM April 7th at Faith Presbyterian Church 2200 N. Meridian Rd. Tallahassee, Florida with a reception to follow.
