About John Dibble
John Dibble, of Durham, NY; m. DENSEY BALDWIN, dau. of Jonathan Baldwin and Submit Lord; settled in Kingsville, Ohio. She died in 1875; he soon after during the same year.
Children were: (originally listed as) John, Obed, Patience, and Daniel. As corrected in Genealogy: Sylvester, Harvey, Addison, Calista, and Timothy.
An 1850 Ohio census for John Dibble, Kingsville shows: Dency (Densey), and Timothy, aged 22 (b 1828). 1870 Ohio census shows John and Deucy (ages 82,and 83, in Ohio.(both born NY). Further: an 1850 Ohio census for Sylvester show b 1812, Ohio, in Kingsville with his family. It is important because he lives NEXT to John and Dency....there is also an Obed Dibble, aged 38, born NY,who CC Baldwin lists as a brother of John Dibble and husband of dau. Patience..
Heads of households in close proximity were: Harvey (34,b Ohio),Sylvester (38, b Ohio) John 62 (b NY),Obed (58,b NY). It does appear that Obed and John Dibble are brothers...and the probability that Harvey & Sylvester are brothers and poss.sons of John, along with Timothy, who appears with John in the 1850 census.
*1850 US census: John Dibble, age 62, in Kingsville, Ohio. A farmer
- 1870 US census: John Dibble, aged 82, in Kingsville, Ohio with Deucy (Densey). He is listed as farmer.
