About John Henry Dillard
DILLARD, JOHN HENRY (1805–1836). John Henry Dillard, Alamo defender, son of William and Sarah Dillard, was born in Smith County, Tennessee, in 1805. He immigrated to Texas and settled at Nashville-on-the-Brazos. He served in the Alamo garrison as a rifleman with the rank of Pvt and died in the battle of the Alamo on March 6, 1836.
