This may be his family in Switzerland: Dubochet

In 1801 he changed his name to Wilson, one possibility for this may have been shame or embarrassment of his daughters behavior as courtesans.

So far children ranging in birth from 1779 - 1814 so some may be grand Children of sons or of promiscuous daughters.

In his daughter writings, I recall seeing "Pearl" in her heading.

  • James Wilson Pearl son of Thomas Pearl and Jane Wilson/Gull married Emma Amelia Cook daughter of James and Elizabeth Cook, 28th Nov 1840 at Christ Church, St Marylebone, England.

[Thos. Gull, of Hadleigh, w., gent., & Jane Pearl, of St. Mary's, Bury St. Edmunds, w., at same. 21 Mar 1836.]

Jane is probably another of his daughter.

Arrived at Crick via Jeremiah Crick who was a border in a "Pearl" home in a census. The only Crick I could find on Geni was: Frances Sophia Hall, SM/PROG, joined the Willson Party in 1820 to South Africa, Thomas Willson could be another Dubochet child, they have connections with Halls of Suffolk.

Julia Percival, grandaughter married George Hall and have a daughter Jessie Annie Sophia Hall On one baptism of Julia Percival it had Bts.

Thomas Willson 35. Architect. (deserted his group soon after arriving in Albany)

  • Wife Mary Ann 30.
  • Children:
  • Percy Willson, 9,
  • Douglas Willson, 6,
  • Thomas Willson, 4.

Found this Baptism in Christ Church records, 1802, Surrey of a 16 year old African born colored boy George Wilson.
