About John Floyd Edwards
John Floyd Edwards, 90, went home to be with his Lord on Feb. 18, 2013, in Klamath Falls, Ore., with family by his side. Floyd was born in Taney County, Mo., at Kirbyville on May 17, 1922. He was the youngest son of John William and Martha (Ellie) Edwards. He was united in marriage with Audrey Marie Yandell on Aug. 9, 1941, in Ozark, Mo. To this union, three children were born with two surviving. One (James Floyd Edwards) preceded his father in death. Floyd and Audrey moved to Klamath Falls during World War II and for many years raised their young family and lived and worked in this area. He enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, pheasant hunting and working on their small farm. He also enjoyed being with his family and always had a very active church life. He worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator in the wood industry until his retirement. After his wife's untimely death in an auto/truck accident, Floyd married Alma Elsie Seay. They had a very happy life, lived in Nevada for a number of years, and prior to that traveled for a period of time with their motor home. However, they returned to live in Oregon, where Floyd lived at the time of his death. Floyd was preceded in death by all of his brothers and sisters (eight of them), his mother and father, his first wife, and also by his oldest son. He is survived by his wife Alma Edwards; son Lewis Edwards of Eagle Point, Ore.; daughter Wanda Sue Turlington of Central Point, Ore.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other close relatives and friends.
