About John Farrington, of Dedham


1. Farrington, Daniel; Anna Eliza Farrington; John Farrington Blake; and John Herbert Bunce. Farrington memorial: a sketch of the ancestors and descendants of Dea. John Farrington, native of Wrentham, Mass., who in 1786 removed to China Plantation, or no. 9, district of Maine, and settled seven miles east of the Penobscot River (incorporated as Orrington in 1788, set off and incorporated as Brewer in 1812, set off and incorporated as Holden in 1852); to which is appended the genealogy of his wife, Cynthia Hawes. ([Portland, Maine]: Farrington Family Committee, 1899).

John1 Farrington was in Dedham, Mass., in 1640, where he married Mary, the daughter of "William Bullard, 1st, in 1649. He was made a freeman, that is, joined the church, March 9, 1667, and his wife Mary was received into the church. May 16. 1652. He died in Dedham, Apr. [June; did not account for O.S. dating] 27, 1676.
