<p>Following is the obituary notice published in "The Free Lanse Star", A Fredericksburg, VA newspaper dated 23 Apr 1948:</p><p><p></p></p><p><p> JOHN FERRELL, 76</p></p><p><p> SUCCUMBS HERE</p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p>John Henry Ferrell, 76, local merchant and resident of Fredericksburg since 1918 died last night at Mary Washington Hospital. Hehad been in failing health for the past few years and was taken to the hospital two days ago,</p><p><p></p></p><p><p>He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. M.E. Reynolds, of Dahlgren, and a son, William M. Ferrell, of Kings Highway.</p></p><p><p></p></p><p><p>Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Wheeler and Thompson Funeral Home by Rev. Charles Andrew. Buriel will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery.</p></p><p></p>
