About John Field

~• John Field of Fieldsville (Hartland) and elsewhere... peddler of patent rights, entrepreneur, spa keeper, salesman https://www.newspapers.com/clip/75902667/sad-fate-for-the-fieldsvil...

It seems to have been his dau. Jane who is claimed to have been the clairvoyant. An 1892 article Implies that another, Julia, was not of a sound mind.
There were three adult maiden daughters in their 30s living in his household in Hartland (1870 census)

research

~• it is my guess that Levi had another brother or close cousin who is the John Field of Fieldsville who was born in 1800 and ran the old Bagley place in Fieldsville in 1856 before moving up to North Harltand. I say thus as John Field daughters and hos wife were part of the Hartlanf fabric of families {MMvB April 2021}

But no John Field is named in the 10.11.1813 will of Levi's father (also Levi) Vermont, U.S., Wills and Probate Records, 1749-1999 for Levi Field = https://www.ancestry.com/discoveryui-content/view/1158873:9084?_phs...

So, may second guess is that Levi Field, (Sr.) who died c. 1813 may have had a nephew who is our John Field of Fieldsville

Third guess: an unchronicled son of https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/63425782/moses-field who had a daughter https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/24170572/patience-pierce who is buried in Hartland
