Married Melvina Cheney in 1888. They had seven children: Mahonri Lazelle, John Elam, Karl Joseph, Julia, Hamilton Murray, Eva and Ambrose Marion. Melvina Cheney died in 1903.
Married Julia Tanner in 1904. They had nine children.
Moved from Show Low to Lakeside in 1906.
Served the Lakeside Ward as Y.M.M.l.A. President, Ward Clerk and Counselor to Bishop Leo Ellsworth.
Sustained as Bishop of the Lakeside Ward, March 28, 1920.
First Postmaster of Lakeside and Justice of Peace for many years.
It can truly be said that no Bishop ever loved his people more and he was loved and respected by those he served.
