About John Ford, Jr.
JOHN FORD II:
John Ford II, died 1714, only proven son of John and Patience Ford.
Married Elizabeth Newton, daughter of Edward Newton, probable son of John Newton, Jr., as he was in the right location and records of the Newton family show a son unnamed. John Newton, Jr's father later married Rose Tucker Gerard Newton.
After John's death, Elizabeth (Newton) Ford married (2) 1714 Nicholas Rogers, who died in 1718;
She was again widowed and married (3) George Newman.
In 1703 John Ford leased for the lives of Avery Naylor and Patience, his wife, all the land which was given to him by his father, John Ford, by Deed of Gift. Witnesses were Daniel MaGuire and Thomas Newman.
On 25 April 1708 Robert Cole assigned to John Ford all Cole's right in Richmond County land bought by Henry Fleet. In October 1718 Elizabeth Rodgers, widow of Nicholas Rodgers, late of Richmond Co., deed., made a deed of gift to her three sons by John Ford: John Ford at age 24; William Ford at age 24; and Patience Ford at 18 or marriage.
