John William "JW" Gibson, 81, of Hanson, KY, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, January 27, 2013.

He was born October 6, 1931 in Webster County to the late William Thomas Gibson and Hallie Hawkins Gibson. He was also preceded in death by one brother, and two sisters.

Mr. Gibson owned and operated Gibson Log + Lumber. He was a member of Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church. He enjoyed working in his garage, maintaining his equipment, watching Western movies, vacationing in the West when he was younger.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Gladys Gibson of Hanson; Peggy Ferrell of Hanson and Sherry (Tommy) Oldham of Downers Grove, IL; one son, John (Rhonda) Gibson Jr of Hanson; two sisters, Bea (James) Cunningham of Madisonville and Brenda (Henry) Faughn of Madisonville; three brothers, James (Elaine) Gibson of Madisonville, Billy (Becky) Gibson of Madisonville, and Bobby Gibson of TN; and grandchildren, Shane Cartwright, Aubry Honeycutt, Jessica Oldham, and Katie Oldham; and great grandchildren, Christian (C.K) Honeycutt, Cole Cartwright, and Ben Cartwright.
 Funeral service will be 1:00 P.M. Thursday, January 31, 2013 at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home with Bro. Gary Taylor and Bro. Bobby Sellers officiating. Burial will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery in Hanson.

Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Stevens, Donnie Stevens, Jody Masoncup, Mike Masoncup, Tommy Oldham, and Pat Dockrey.

Memorial contributions may be made to Olive Branch Cemetery Fund. Envelopes will be made available at the funeral home.
