10 September 1708: Contract of marriage between Hugh Montgomery of Coilsfield on the one part and Katharine Arbuckle relict of unquhile John Hamilton, baillie of the Abbey of Holyroodhouse on the other part, whereby in consideration of the marriage to be solemnised between them the said Hugh binds himself to infeft Katharine Arbuckle his future spouse in liferent in an annuity of £1000 Scots to be uplifted yearly furth of the said lands Dated at Edinburgh. 23 April 1734: Disposition granted by Hugh Montgomery of Coilsfield (in implement of his marriage contract with Katherine Arbuckle, relict of John Hamilton, baillie of the Abbey of Holyroodhouse) in favour of Alexander Montgomery, his son procreat between him and Katherine Arbuckle and the heirs male of his body which failing to Mary Montgomery the eldest daughter in life of the granter then spouse to William Hamilton of Lethern and the heirs male of her body which failing to the heirs female of her body which failing to Heleanor Montgomery, his second daughter then spouse to Thomas Garvane, provost of Ayr and the heirs male of her body which failing to the heirs female of her body which failing to Jean Montgomery, his third daughter relict of Mr John Burnet minister at Stair and the heirs male of her body which failing to the heirs female of her body which failing to Margaret Montgomery, his fourth daughter and the heirs male of her body, which failing to the heirs female of her body, which failing to Katherine Montgomery, his youngest daughter and the heirs male of her body, which failing to the heirs female of her body, which failing to the said granter, his own nearest heirs and assignees whatsoever, of the 40s land of Coylsfield, 5lib land of Carngullan called Dalziels Third, 40s land of Skeoch, 4 merk land of Overtown, Miln of Tarbolton and others all lying in the barony of Tarbolton, bailliary of Kylestewart, Shire of Ayr and sichlike the lands of Alholhouse Chappel, 20s land of Tannockhill and Kirkmuir, and the lands of Bruntshiells and Auchinlongford, with the advocation, donation and right of patronage of the parish and parish kirk of Tarbolton reserving his own liferent and the liferent annuity of his spouse.
