Died in Johnstown on the 11th, John Hamilton, aged 71 years, 1 month, 20 days. Interment was at Lower Yoder Catholic Cemetery on Sunday. He was born at Frankstown, Blair County about 1813, the son of Robert Hamilton. They located in Johnstown in 1814. His mother was born in 1790 and died January 1, 1860. His father was born in 1781 and died in February, 1864. The deceased was one of their 10 children: Mrs. Barnet, long deceased; John; Daniel, who died at Cleveland 2 years ago; Kate, who is unmarried and lives with the family of Supt. Williams; William, who died 30 years ago; David, of Upper Yoder Township; Jacob; Jane, wife of Supt. Williams; George, of Terre Haute, Indiana; and Robert, who died in St. Louis 6 years ago. The deceased married Miss Margaret Dougherty of Loretto April 7, 1836. They were the parents of 9 children: Robert, of Reading; Mrs. William Devine, of South Side; John H., of the South Side; Mrs. Elizabeth Emigh of Middleburg, Nebraska; the late Mrs. D. R. Baird; Charles, South Side; Frank, South Side; Ida, at home, and Tobias, deceased.
