John Hardesty was married twice; first to Deborah (Gott) Hardesty (abt 1831 OH). They lived in Jackson Twp, Parke Co, IN, and had Mary E (abt 1850), Francis A (abt 1851), GEORGE (Dec 1852), Emma (abt 1854) and Clara (abt 1859). In 1867 John married Sarah (Ball) Wilson, a widow, and they had Fred (1868), John (1871), Della (1874) and James (1876). John & Sarah are last found on the 1880 census; John died soon after and Sarah moved to Kansas with a few of their sons. Son George married Isabell Rigdon (Mar 1860-Oct 10, 1906) in 1879; they had at least 7 children.
