About John Harris, of Lancaster & Isle of Wight
1. JOHN HARRIS was born ABT 1635 [SIC: 1655] and died 1713 in ISLE OF WIGHT CO VA. He was the son of Thomas Harris d1672 and Eleanor George.
- MARGARET HOBBS. She was died 16 NOV 1687 in NANSEMOND CO., VA. Daughter of Francis Hobbs.

John Harris- born about 1636 [SIC: 1655] and died in Isle of Wight 1713. He married 1 ( Margaret Hobbs, daughter of Francis Hobbs. She died on Nov. 16, 1687 and he married 2 (Elizabeth Church on April 13,1689. He was over 40 years old before his first marriage. After his second marriage , he joined the Quakers and became a devoted member. His family records can be found in the Quaker records of Nansemond Co., Va.

Thomas Harris m. (1) Eleanor George and had son, John Harris, obit. 1713.
John had eight daughters by his two wives. John's first wife was Margaret Hobbs (sister of Francis Hobbs)
"John Harris was a proven son of Thomas Harris d1672 and 1st wife Alice George. In a deed selling land in Lancaster Co, VA inherited from his father's 1672 will, John names his 'loveing uncle Nicholas George' in Lancaster to act as his attorney to sell the property." - land in Lancaster that he had inherited from his father Thomas Harris. Lancaster Deed Bk 4, pg 208.
"His daughter Alice Harris married Peter Fiveash Jr and is named in his 1739 IOW Will.
