Accidently drowned near the New England Brickyards, Mystic River, Medford, MA
this was in the Malden evening news Aug 23, 1917 JOHN B HEALY DROWNS SWIMMING IN MYSTIC Pleasant St. Junkdealer with companions were bathing near old Somerville bath house and Healy missed after Dive.
John B Healy (sp) aged 55, a junk dealer, 519 Pleasant Street, was drowned while bathing in the Mystic near the old Somerville bath house at 10:30 a.m. Up to 2pm the body had not been recovered and the park police are dragging for it. Healy, was with his nephew John B Hennick, Charles St. and Edw. Donohue, West St. Hennick said that they had been out for a walk and Healy proposed that they take a dip. His is said to be a good swimmer. The trio went into the water in their union suits, and after swimming for awhile Hennick and Donohue discovered that Healy was missing. The deceased was a native of Somerville, had resided here the greater part of his life, was a widower and is survived by 10 children, the youngest being 8.
