John William Hommel

John William "Tom" Hommel was born Dec. 30, 1852 in New York. He married on May 19, 1872 at Neillsville, Clark Co., Wisconsin, with CHARLOTTE JANE STEELE, dau. of Thomas I. Steele and Jane E. Dobbins. She was born Dec. 25, 1854 in Plymouth, Sheboygan Co., Wisconsin. She died June 28, 1903 in Greenwood, Clark Co., Wisconsin and is buried at Neillsville City Cemetery, Neillsville, Clark Co., Wisconsin.

Children were: Nine M. (1876-1945; m. Woelffer) an Lulu Marie (1878-1915).

After Charlotte's death he married 2nd with IDA MAY (Allen) CARNEGIE, widow of George C. Carnegie, on Sept. 6, 1905. She was born Sept. 8, 1865. He died Jan. 31, 1927 and is buried at Neillsville City Cemetery, Neillsville, Clark Co., Wisconsin. Ida died Oct. 19, 1940 and is buried at Neillsville City Cemetery also..
