John Howe, Esquire of Hodinhull of Warwickshire, England", related to Lord Charles Howe, who was the Earl of Lancaster in the reign of Charles I (1625-1649). The Howe family came from England shortly after the Pilgrims, between 1630 and 1640. They lived mostly in Massachusetts, Vermont, and New Hampshire.
John Howe was one of the founders of Marlborough, Massachusetts.
