

John James Williams, a Senator from Delaware; born on a farm near Frankford, Sussex County, Del., May 17, 1904; attended the public schools at Frankford; moved to Millsboro, Del., in 1922 and engaged in the grain business; elected as a Republican to the United States Senate in 1946; reelected in 1952, 1958 and 1964 and served from January 3, 1947, until his resignation December 31, 1970; was not a candidate for reelection in 1970; died on January 11, 1988, in Lewes, Del.; interment in Millsboro Cemetery, Millsboro, Del.
