Signer of a petition, dated 9 Oct., 1792, from the merchants of Alexandria to the General Assembly of Virginia for the right to establish a bank. (WMQ,1st ser.,III,207)
Active Quaker and charter member of the ALexandria mm which he servrd continuously for 20 yrs. Lived in Alexandria at 211 S. St. Asaph St. Respected merchant of the town. No children by second wife. Died at sea at 8AM on board the Brig Resolution on her passage from St. Thomas
