Story that I was told by my father is that Johnson was an French Indian. He went to Sicily and bought (my father) from Grandma Bono and returned to the area of Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan.

I did not know my given name was from his listed mother. We called my brother Jim. We didn't know his first name was John until he was required to list for the military.
