About John Klauser
GEDCOM Note
Father was George Klauser. Mother was Maria Wiemer. Brothers were George and David. Sisters were Maria Katherine (Arnst), Molly (Schrimp) and Katie (Hienze). Uncles were Jacob Wiemer and Conrad Wiemer both in Russia.
John came from a small German community called Neu Reimer in the areaof Durrf, North Rusland. Married Katherine Elizabeth Schlotthauer(born 8 April 1893) on 12 April 1912. They emigrated to the UnitedStates in December 1912. Their journey was from Neu Weimer to Bremen,Germany where they waited for two weeks for the arrival of a ship. The voyage was eight days, probably to Ellis Island, NY. From therethey rode the train to Idaho, settling near Sugar City. Aunt Lydia was born there on 16 March 1913. In the years prior to moving to Colorado, they had several more children. Edward (born 20 Jan 1916,died 19 Jan 1990); Alex (20 July 1919 in Paul) plus two children who died as infants. In 1920 they moved to Colorado, in the Fort Morgan area, where they had three more children; Harry (born 12 July 1921),Helen (born 14 May 1925) and Albert (born 1926, died at age 40 in1966). They returned to Idaho in 1930 or 31. John also had a brother who lived in the Rupert area, Albert Klauser. John worked on the land for most of his life, he died in 1959 at the age of 67.
