Sergeant at Arms 1373. Was at the Tower when captured by Wat Tyler & his rebels and beheaded in 1381. He was married & had issue and from him descent the Legge family of Norfolk, including Dr. Thomas Legge, Master of Caius College, Cambridge. Died 12 July 1607 aged 72 & buried in their chapel.

Cambridge University Alumae 1261-1900 for birth & death- Thomas Legge; the son of Stephen Legge & his wife Margaret. He was born 1535 and died 12 July 1607 and was a famous playwright. His best known play was Richardus Tertius. He matriculatedfrom Corpus Christi, Cambridge, then Trinty College BA in 1556, then Oxford 1566 for his master. He was a faculty member of Jesus College, Cambridge. He was buried at Caius College.
