John Marsh arrived in Pennsylvania in 1736 with wife Elizabeth, the same year father Joshua, mother Elizabeth and children Abigail, Jonathan and Peter arrived.
John was granted 200 A Nov 24, 1736 and it was patented Mar 14, 1790 in East Nantmeal Tup York County, PA. he and his son, Joshua was disowned from Uwchlan by Goshen Mo Mtg 3/17/1742 and removed to Warrington Twp, York Co. PA c 1750 He was given Warrant #41 9/10/1751 patented 5/25/1855 Patent Bk G 489. He also received Warrants # 233 & #236.
John removes to VA with his son, William. John and William purchased 205 acres of land August 19, 1771 in Culpepper Co. VA and is recorded Deed Book F. pages 316-318. The land was located in what is now Rappahannock Co. on what was then the main road between Richmond and Winchester, VA. The land was purchased from William Roberts heir of his father, John Roberts. The land was located in Brumfield Parish in the fork of Rappahannock River joining on Battle Run and Cannon's River.
John's will was made and witnessed September 7, 1776 and probated in Culpeper Co. Oct 21, 1776 Will Book B. pages 183/84. Will Book B pages 202/03 March 17, 1777 contain an inventory of Personal Property.
