Captain John Mason m. (first) his first cousin, Anne Mason [AD: daughter of Major Samuel Mason, son of the Major John Mason of the Pequot War] July 18, 1701. Settled first in Lebanon, Conn., but removed to Stonington about 1703, where she was received into the church February 24, 1706.

After Mrs. Anne Mason's death Captain John Mason m. (second) Mrs. Anne SANFORD Noyes, widow of Dr. James Noyes of Stonington, Conn. She was the daughter of Governor Peleg Sanford of Rhode Island and grandaughter of Governor William Coddington of Newport, RI [AD note: she was therefore descended from Mrs. Anne MARBURY Hutchinson of Mass/RI/NY - American martyr to Winthropism - a colonial form of myopia - who was descended from Edward PLANTAGENET (King Edward I) of England] The marriage of Captain John Mason and Anne SANFORD Noyes was on July 15, 1719. Captain John Mason died December [23] 1736 [other sources say of smallpox] in London, England, where he had gone with Mahomet, grandson of Owaneco, to obtain recognition by the Crown to the right of Mahomet to the sachemship of the Mohegans. [AD NOTE: an ironic death for the grandson of Major John Mason]

John died in London City, England where he had gone with the Moheg an Indian Mahomet, grandson of Owaneco, to obtain recognition by the Crown to the right of Mahomet to be sachemship of the Mohegans
