Frank McDermott Dies at Kampos

John Franklin McDermott 53 years old and for the past four years pumper for the Western Pacific at Kampos, died yesterday morning at that place. Death came very sudden and was apparently due to heart disease. He was born at Lamoille, was married and ranched there several years. For the past eight years he has been an employ of the Western Pacific Railroad. He is survived by a brother James B. McDermott of Beowawe; the following nieces and nephews; Hazel Billet of Elko, Mrs Edith Nelson and Mrs. Ed Francis of Wendover, Mrs. John Pratt of Eureka, Mrs. Marshall Hess and Arthur Billett of Lamoille, Paul Billett of Salt Lake City, and Jimmie Billett of Las Vegas; two cousins Bart and Andrew McDermott and a brother-in-law, James Billett. He was a member of Woodmen of the World. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Arnold Mortuary.

He was close to his Aunt Mary Caroline Montgomery Root and would often stay with her in Portland .

Bertha married Govern H Richardson, April 30, 1929 in Elko County, Nevada. Her sister Emily H. Toyn married William Bellinger December 25 1901. Bertha and Govern lived with William and Emily in 1930.
