John Owen Mull

OHN OWEN MULL, 63, of Winfield, Kansas, passed away Tuesday May 5, 2015 at his home.

Born on November 4, 1951 in Alva, Oklahoma, he was the son of John E. and Anna (Cummings) Mull. He was raised and received his education in Winfield and graduated from Winfield High School in 1969.

John was united in marriage to Marcia Heffron on January 2, 1970 in Winfield, Kansas. He first worked at Winfield Floral Greenhouse and later in the oilfields. John had been employed for K.G. Day Builder and McCoy Electric. He owned and operated A+ Home Improvement with his son. John most recently had worked for Eaton Roofing and Exteriors in Wichita, and had retired in January.

John loved spending time with his children and grandchildren and rarely missed their sporting events. His love of the outdoors was evident as he enjoyed sporting clays, fishing, hunting, gardening and motorcycles, and he had a passion for food and music. Farming had been a major part of his life, and he farmed with his son and late father-in-law.

Mull and wife Michelle of Winfield, KS; and Jeramy Mull and wife Lori of Goddard, KS; His daughter: Jennifer Preston and husband Brian of Andover, KS; His mother: Anna Mull of Winfield, KS; His brother: Don Mull and wife Mary of Winfield, KS; His grandchildren: John R., Jack and Jessica Mull of Winfield, KS; Isabelle and Jonah Mull of Goddard, KS; and Lane and Landon Preston of Andover, KS; and Extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, John E. Mull, and his father-in-law, Ronal Heffron.

Memorial services will be held at 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, May 12, 2015 at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield. The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M, Monday, May 11, 2015 at the funeral home.

A memorial has been established in John’s name for the Kansas Cancer Center in Winfield and Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
