About John Munro
Emigrated from Scotland to Virginia, 1650.
6. John, who studied for the Church, and emigrated to America — his brother Andrew being there before him — where he was for several years minister of Pomunkie, Virginia. He married there, with issue — several children, whose descendants, according to the late Alexander Ross, lived and are still numerous in the United States. Probably one of his sons was the Rev. Andrew Monro, minister of the Established Church, Virginia, on record in 1696, and named after his uncle. Major Andrew. A Rev, John cMonro, appears as a rector in Northumberland County, Virginia, in 1692.
