About John George Musters
John George Musters Chaworth was the second child and eldest son of John Musters (1777-1849) and Mary Ann Musters, née Chaworth (1786-1832). John Musters assumed the surname Chaworth in 1806, following his marriage. John George and his younger siblings were all baptised with the additional Christian name Musters, and the surname Chaworth. When the family reverted to the surname Musters in 1823, his full name became John George Musters Musters.
John George entered the 10th Royal Hussars in 1827, but had resigned his commission by 1830. After his marriage in 1837 he lived at Wiverton Hall. The family were travelling in Naples when their third child George Chaworth Musters was born in 1841. John George died of tuberculosis at Colwick in 1842. His widow Emily died of the same disease only three years later.
