I think it's more likely that he died in 1790, since his son John Nesbitt Nash (born 1786) was raised by his sister Mary Nash Nesbitt and her husband Samuel (likely the brother of John Nesbitt Nash's mother) as apparently Nancy Jane Nesbitt Nash died in childbirth or soon after.
