John T. Olsen, 94, of Beaufort, died Tuesday, April 26, 2011 in Beaufort Memorial Hospital. John was born June 22, 1916 in Dearborn, MI, son of the late Nils and Sigrid Thorberg Olsen. He served his country with honor in the U.S. Navy from 1941-1946 and was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant Commander. He was owner of Hexagon Tool and Engineering Corporation in Dearborn, MI, prior to moving to Beaufort in 1983. Mr. Olsen was a member of The Parish Church of St. Helena and he was a member of the Thursday Club. He is survived by his wife Frances and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law The Reverend Roger W. Smith and his wife Headley. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, May 3 at 3 P.M. at St. Helena Episcopal Cemetery. Anderson Funeral Home is assisting the family.
