About John S Patterson
Not the same person as John S. Patterson, who was still living in 1850.
He died in 1841 and his widow married George Boyer in 1850 in Jefferson county. Looking backward for him, there were no John Pattersons in Jefferson county in 1840 but eight in Allegheny county. However, this family might have been in Philadelphia in 1838 when his daughter Mary was born.
