Also from the Boston City Document 59

"image did not transmit...john, if you want email me" From the “History of the Town of Easton Massachusetts by William L.Chaffin 1886” I find the following:

John Phillips Jr. son of Captain John, was born in Weymouth, in 1692. He owned land where the Dickerman brothers now live (near 1886….john) , on Washington Street, and his house appears to have been just South of where John Dickerman now lives. His son, Ebenezer, the Baptist Deacon, lived there after him, and the first Baptist Minister of Easton was ordained there. He died January 18, 1758.

The following map section of Easton in the year 1750 shows the location (see star) of John Phillips Jr.’s home on what Chaffin describes as now Washington Street. His neighbors were Samule Stone, John Drake and Joseph Drake. The accompanying map of the same area in 2007 shows Washington St. and Union St. the street that neighbor Samuel Stone lived on.

In 1747 “John Phillips Junr” signed, as a member of the Chh (Church) of Christ in Easton, on the “Sixth day of April, A Domini 1747” the renewal of their “Covenant with God” written by Solomon Prentice, Pastor.

REBECCA HIXON belonged to the Church of Christ Easton, Massachusetts. (Source: History of the Town of Easton Massachusetts by William L.Chaffin 1886)

From the "New England Historicaland Genealogical Register for the year 1890 Vol. XLIVpub. 1890" I find the following.

"image did not transmit...john, if you want email me"

The children of JOHN PHILLIPS and REBECCA HIXON are:

i. EXPERIENCE7 PHILLIPS, born April 05, 1723, Easton, Massachusetts (Source: Vital Records of Easton - Experience Phillips, daughter of John Phillips the 2nd born by his wife Rebecca on the fifth day of April in the year 1723); married June 25, 1739 ICHABOD MANLEY (Source: Vital records of Easton - Ichabod Manly & Experience Phillips, both of Easton, were married 25 June 1739 by Edward Hayward) son of Nathaniel Manley and Hannah Leonard; born December 26, 1709, Taunton, Massachusetts. (Source: Vital Records of Easton, Massachusetts- Ichabod Manly, son of Nathaniel & Hannah Manly of Easton, born 26 Dec. 1709.).

Ichabod Manley appears on a list of voters in the town of Easton in the year 1749; in the year 1757 he also appears on a list of “those under sixty years of eage that are obliged by law to appare upone an alarm that are not training soldiers” (Source: State Archives vol. xcv. P.273)

iii. REBECCA PHILLIPS, born August 31, 1729, Easton, Massachusetts (Source: Vital Records of Easton- Rebecca Phillips, daughter of John Phillips born by his wife Rebecca on the thirty first day of August in the year 1729); died November 22, 1774, Easton, Massachusetts (Source: Vital records of Easton - The wedow Rebeckah Randell died 19 Dec. 1774); married November 22, 1744 THOMAS RANDELL (Source: Vital Records of Easton - Thomas Randel Jun. & Rebeckah Phillips, both of Easton, were married 22 Nov. 1744 by Edward Hayward) son of Thomas Randell and Rachel Lincoln, born November 22, 1701 in Easton, Mass. (Source: Vital records of Easton - Thomas Randell, son of Thomas & Rachel Randell, born 25 Nov. 1701); died February 7, 1769, Easton, Massachusetts (Source: Vital records of Easton - Mr.Thomas Randell died 7 Feb. 1769 in his 68th year).

Thomas and Rebecca Randell lived in the valley of the Queset River, about halfway between the villages of North and South Easton; building his home upon an elevated ridge known in Geology as a Kame, which was made by the last glacial action in this locality. The old cellar may still be seen. ("A Biographical History of Robert Randell and his Descendants, 1608-1909"; by William L. Chaffin; pp. 13, 16; The Grafton Press; New York City, New York; 1909)

The following map section of Easton in 1750 shows the location (see star) of Thomas Randell’s home.

From the “Manuscripts of Colonial and Revolutionary America – Bristol County Massachusetts Court Papers” I find the following of interest. I am unsure of this complaint is against Thomas Randell son of Thomas Randell and Rebecca Phillips.

Document Name: Complaint of Silence Burr Author: Silence Burr Date: December 26, 1777 Place: Easton, Massachusetts Abstract: A complaint signed by Silence Burr, a single woman of Easton, alleging that Thomas Randell, also of Easton "did . . . begit her with [a] Basterd childe."
