Biography
Find a grave records have his parents as William Pollard 1744 - 1807 and Mary Collins 1749. There was a John Pollard born Petworth Sussex in 1783 but he died the same year.

Could his wife be a cousin as her maiden name is Collins?

He possibly had a brother James Pollard b 1784 in Heyshott Sussex.

There is a James Pollard (Pollard-4224) who was also born in Heyshott Sussex in 1805 and came to the Swan River Colony on the Rockingham. Could he be a cousin or a nephew?

It is claimed that he served in the Royal Navy and took part in the Battle of Trafalgar with Nelson. The muster list has only one John Pollard a midshipman age 18. This is not the same person as this Pollard was born in 1787 and died 1868 and is credited as the person who killed the Frenchman that shot Nelson.

He later worked a farm near Killegar in Wicklow, Ireland.

He was married in County Brook Ireland.

John came out to the colony in October 1841 on the Ganges with his family. His age was 58. He was Protestant. No occupation was listed. He must have followed his son and married daughter who arrived in April 1839 on the Hindoo.

He is buried in St John's Cemetery Pinjarra with his wife. Cemetery records have his age as 62. Online death records do not list a place of birth.
