About John Bayard Pollock
John Byard Pollock, 86, of Waynesburg, died Sunday, June 1, 1958, following a lengthy illness. He was active in the oil, gas and coal business and was a well-known horseman.
Born Dec. 6, 1871, in Waynesburg, he was a son of Harvey Carter Pollock and Florinda Byard Pollock, and spent his entire life in Waynesburg.
He was married Oct. 16, 1901 by Dr. A. B. Miller, then president of Waynesburg College, to Alice Throckmorton, who preceded him in death in October, 1947.
Mr. Pollock is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Alan (Josephine) Hill, Sr., of Waynesburg, with whom he made his home in later years; Mrs. Brackett Ayers of Lake Worth, Fla., and Mrs. E. Curtis Patterson of Ann Arbor, Mich.; a son, John Byard Pollock of Philadelphia; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and a brother, Atty. Lloyd Pollock of Waynesburg.
He attended Waynesburg schools and Duff's Iron City Business College of Pittsburgh.
