About John Samuel Raley

John Samuel Raley, known to most as Sam. In 1901 his family moved from Boone Arkansas to Oklahoma when Sam was 14. Sam was a farmer in the Fort Gibson area. Sam married Cora Leona Johnson, June-27-1906. Sam and Cora had 9 children. Cora Died from cancer on Aug-17-1937 in Fort Gibson.

Sam married Bessie Austin Strickland in 1938 or 1939. Bessie was a nurse to Cora during Cora's illness. There were no children.

Sam and Cora are buried in Starnes Cemetery, near Fort Gibson.
