He was the son of Thomas Reeves II (5 Jul 1646 - 28 Aug 1685) and Rebecca Davis Reeves (1657 - 1694). John married Rachel Foster (dates and information provided in another suggestion for her memorial) on 14 May 1696 in Southampton. John died 13 Aug 1753 in Southampton. They had 8 children: John II, Abraham, Abigail, Nathan, Stephen, Samuel, Charles, and James.
