About John Riddan
The descendants of Thaddeus1 Riddan, through his only son, John2 Riddan, are numerous, though they would hardly be recognized in the modern version of the name — Raddin.
On April 25, 1692, " Hannah Dyer of Portsmouth widdow & Relict of Henry Dyer (dec?)," quitclaimed to her brother, John Riddan,of Marble. head, for "fifty pounds in silver," all right in the estate of "my honoured ffather mr. Thadeos Riddan (dec?) . . . is in Marblehead." At the same time, her sisters, Mary Hoddy, of Portsmouth, "widow of John Hoddy decd," and Elizabeth Riddan quitclaimed their rights for the same amount, £50, each.*
