Revolutionary War Veteran. A native of New Jersey he served as a soldier for the United States during the Revolutionary War entering the service in 1778. He fought at the Battle of Monmouth during the war. Riddle emigrated to Ohio in 1790 and settled in the Millcreek Valley in central Hamilton County. He died from a strangulated hernia when he was 85 years old. He was initially buried in a family cemetery and was later removed to Spring Grove Cemetery on December 5, 1863.
