About John Ridley
According to the Dictionary of National Biography article regarding Lancelot Ridley:[1]
Lancelot was said to be the son of John Ridley of Willimoteswick, Northumberland, and Margaret Horton. Given that he received his B.A. from Clare Hall, Cambridge, in 1523-4, Lancelot would have been born about 1501. Extrapolating from that, the father, John, would have been born about 1475.
