About John Edward Rousey

John "Bud" Rousey of Eugene died March 3 of age-related causes. He was 87.

A graveside service is planned for a later date.

He was born Jan. 31, 1922, in Bloomington, Ill., to Clarance and Theresa De Moss Rousey. He married Jean Orvetta Zifka on Nov. 25, 1939. She died on Aug. 30, 2008, after 68 years of marriage.

After graduating high school, he served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and later worked as a contractor.

Survivors include one son, David Rousey Sr. of Eugene; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A daughter; Sharon Rousey, and a son, Ronald, died previously.
